Hello -- absolute newbie here...
I have come across a neglected but intact dinghy which appears to be a 5o5 but whose hull registry does not appear to conform to the 4-digit numbering system. It appears to be fibreglass, has a D-type mast. The small aluminum plate on the transom reads as follows: RXR 51935 151078 Any idea who the builder is? The second number looks like it could be a date, i.e., 15 October 1978. Wondering whether to make an offer or run away very fast. |

www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic1.aspx Apparently RXR stands for the (now defunct) Lynch Yacht Store, Denver, Colorado, USA. Seems to have gone under -- two years after this hull was made. I couldn't find any other examples from this company on the web. A boat of little significance, seemingly... |

Found the hull number - 5849, which makes it a 1976 Rondar. I may investigate further.
